MY TRAVELLING FUN II

Our scene opens late in the day on Tuesday night as the electrical storm in Winnipeg is coming to a head. Sheryl is safe and warm in the house, although she is standing directly in front of the uncurtained window so she can watch the river accumulate on the road beyond. She would be a perfect target for a sniper on an opposite roof. It's a good thing she isn't a spy or an incognito government traitor or she would have been picked off in a second. She watches the rain pour down and the lightening that seems to turn the night picture into brilliant daylight. Her cell phone rings...

It's Lisa. Is she trapped in the storm? Is she flooded out? Is she floating down the Red River in a paper raft, bailing out water with a spoon? No... she's calling to brag about her Yaris again... And, to ask if the lightening will be more likely to hit her while she's on the cell phone. But Sheryl is only slightly perturbed this time. Lisa's taunts and flaunts will not effect her. Sheryl's golden chariot Corolla could drive right over Lisa's Yaris. That makes Sheryl feel a lot better. She hangs up the phone.
The next day is fraught with driving, schedules and getting lost.... just a little. Sheryl had the opportunity to explore the northern reaches of Manitoba... well, at least as soon as she drove out of Winnipeg, she noticed people were using their dog sleds and everyone lived in igloos. She wondered briefly what was wrong with these Manitobans... She did get to see a black bear cub and a yearling grizzly. The trip was very exciting.

Back in civilization, Sheryl had a Starbucks fix and headed back to base camp to get a few minutes of rest before embarking on her venture to Pembina and Bishop Grandin and a little supper at Applebees. What a life!

Sheryl, you are hilarious! My friends and I are enjoying your adventurous chronicles. I hope you get to drive a Yaris soon! (Alpheis thinks she needs to send you a car magazine so that you can pick something better...but then, she's never heard of a Yaris; none of us have. Also, Alpheis wants to give you a BIG HUG and she thinks you're great!) Anyway, keep blogging because it makes me happy.

Hi Sheryl. The Yaris...is no longer mine. It was a sad parting, but we both made it through. I also was able to bail out of the Red River, and of course the Yaris was untouched because it's AWESOME. Ha ha ha! Don't worry, I returned it in one piece. Enjoy the rest of your adventures without my daily phone calls. Instead, I'll just snuggle with your kitty until you get back.

VERY ENTERTAINING READING... it is like you are a super hero character or something! If you where a super hero who would you be and what would your power be?
This is something my husband and I debate often!
